Lucky, have you considered collecting wiring diagrams and making them available to visitors on your site? I have electronic copies of wiring diagrams from my 71 Oldsmobile manual that I could send you. They're essentially one-pagers for each car and engine. I mention this because many problems people have with their cars could be helped with a good wiring diagram. Other sites provide good information on old cars, but rarely give the wiring diagram. I could probably scan wiring diagrams for other cars from the old shop manuals I have. This idea could also be expanded to include vacuum diagrams.

Yes that's a great idea. We are beginningn to collect data to make model specific pages on the website (aside from the message boards) and this type of information would be great. Send any information that you have like this to: Lucky@AmericanIron.net I will put it online and post its link in the Olds forum and we'll use it when we make the new Olds info pages.
If anyone else has any information such as this, you can also email it to me.
Thanks Kestas!

I don't know why, but '74 seems to be a cut off year for the availability of wiring information. At least on the GM stuff I've tried to find anyway. Coincidently, or not, '74 is also the cut off for replacement wiring harnesses for GM cars from the aftermarket places. When I talked to the guys at M&H Fabricators, they said it's because they cant get the original blue-prints for post '74 GM cars. Blue-prints and wiring diagrams are two different things though, I still don't understand why there are no diagrams out there somewhere.

Conni, if you can find a GM service manual for your 'Vette, it should have the wiring diagram in it. That was how I had to get one for the '75 Trans Am I restored. They're a bit spendy, but are complete service manuals with info for repairs on the whole car. Always good to have.

That was with external voltage regulator wasn't it?

The 10 gauge red wire makes it's way over to the horn relay via the battery positive.

Ok, I checked it out, '72 is still external regulator. So yeah, horn relay.
